LG showed the world’s first flexible display that can be stretched and twisted

The display can be stretched from 12 to 14 inches and can withstand more than 10,000 shape changes

Korean tech giant LG has unveiled the world’s first 12-inch high-resolution flexible display with technology that allows it to stretch, bend and twist without damage or distortion.

This solution outperforms existing folding and folding flexible display technologies. Also, the innovation has high durability and reliability, which maximizes its potential for commercial purposes.

The display is capable of withstanding over 10,000 shape changes. It features 20 percent stretch – expandable to 14 inches, 100 ppi resolution, and full color RGB backlighting. The display is based on a highly elastic film substrate made of special silicon, which is used in contact lenses.

Developers see the potential of the technology in a variety of applications, including fashion, wearable devices and gaming, for example, it can be attached to curved surfaces such as clothing or furniture.
