How to open any application from the iPhone lock screen in iOS 16

Mobiles

We have already talked about the useful features of widgets on the updated iOS 16 lock screen . Third-party app developers now have the ability to create custom shortcuts to call contacts, run automation commands, or navigate to any app installed on a smartphone.

Using this chip, you can create special buttons to launch the desired programs or games. At the moment, the free Lock Launcher app from the App Store is the best way to do this .

► Launch the app and go to the Widgets tab .

► Go to the settings of the new widget and click Edit .

► Specify the application, select the appropriate icon and its design.

► Create as many widgets as you need for all the apps you need. In the free version of the application, you can create only a couple of widgets, with the help of an in-app purchase ( 99 rubles ), you can remove the limit on the number of shortcuts.

► Go to editing the lock screen (hold your finger on the lock screen and click Customize ).

► Add all customized Lock Launcher widgets and save your lock screen.

When you first launch the application, you will see a request to open a third-party program, on subsequent transitions this dialog box will not appear.

Don’t forget that lock screens can be changed on a schedule .

You can, for example, create several identical screens with a different set of shortcut widgets and change them by time or location. Get some shortcuts to launch apps at home and others for work.

How to launch apps through the Live Activities banner

The developers of the same application suggest using another iOS 16 feature to run the necessary programs.

The Live Activities card can be used for this . These are special interactive banners that can display useful information, such as the match score, taxi pickup time, or something else.

► Launch the Lock Launcher app and go to the Favorites tab .

► Add the desired application to launch from the lock screen.

► Create the required number of labels in this section.

Unlike widgets, here you can choose colored icons and add more than 4 labels in the panel.

► Open Settings – Live Activities (Dynamic Island) .

► Activate the main toggle switch and turn on the Dock section .

The number of rows with icons, labels in one row and the rounding radius of the icons can be selected as you wish.

► Enable the Show on Lock Screen option and save the settings.

After that, on the lock screen, you will see the Dock-panel with the previously added application shortcuts.

When you first launch the application, you will see a request to open a third-party program, on subsequent transitions this dialog box will not appear.

You can add shortcuts using the two described methods at the same time and get a large number of icons to launch the programs you need.
